Mission
Empowering females in the study and practice of Engineering to position them to soar higher and take advantage of opportunities in the sector.
Vision
To be the leading female engineering association that encourages females to achieve their fullest potential no matter their ethnic origin or social background.
Aim
To ensure the provision of equal opportunities for both genders in their pursuit of engineering careers.
We are WINE
Women in Engineering (WINE) is a network of Ghanaian female engineers within the GhIE. Our Members are female professionals and student engineers. .
Born from creativity,
Shaped by our values.
WINE invites you to a program that encourages business to open it’s doors for visits by schoolchildren, teachers, career advisers and parents in order to help our children in general and our females in particular form opinions based on facts and not popular belief and misconceptions. We appeal to society and the business community to assist in every way possible.
Trust leads to trust
Let’s ensure that every area of our society, be it the classroom, business and recreational areas are inclusive towards women in science and engineering.
Impact is everything
We need to countenance the possible existence of females in these professions by portraying them positively in our promotional literature, our policy documents and our procedures.
One team, one goal
WINE will take the necessary steps to make the Ghanaian female aware of the opportunities available to her, the societal norms that work against her and support her to overcome and forge ahead inspite of these obstacles.

Why should females be encouraged?
Society and business in particular need to worry about the lack of representation of females in science, engineering and technology.

How do we intend promoting engineering careers for girls and women?
We intend to achieve this by providing information on engineering education and the profession, arranging counseling through personal contacts, seminars, talks, workshops etc., acting as role models for the female child, developing links with and participating in schemes that encourage girl science education eg. GES Science, Technology and Mathematics Education (STME) clinic.
We are goal driven
Autonomy to succeed
Authentic culture
