Women in Engineering Ghana successfully organised the WinE Health Walk and First Aid Awareness Session 2026 on Saturday, 23 May 2026, across participating branches of the Ghana Institution of Engineering.
Held under the theme “Move Well, Respond Better: Health Walk and First Aid for Women Engineering Practitioners,” the event formed part of WinE Ghana’s 2026 programme calendar and was designed to promote physical wellbeing, preventive health awareness, and basic first aid response among women engineering practitioners.
The activity brought together members and participants from across the branches for a guided wellness walk, a health talk, practical first aid training, networking, and refreshments. The walk created a lively and energetic platform for participants to prioritise fitness and wellness, while the first aid session equipped them with practical life-saving skills relevant to both their professional and daily lives.
The programme also received strong institutional support from the leadership of the Ghana Institution of Engineering. The GhIE President, President-Elect, Executive Director, and members of the GhIE Council joined participants during the early part of the session, affirming GhIE’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the wellbeing and professional development of women in engineering.
A total of 196 participants registered for the activity, which was held across four active branches. The successful delivery of the event across all participating branches reflects WinE Ghana’s growing organisational capacity and national reach.
The session was supported by TNYOU Corporate Wellness, which facilitated the wellness and first aid components of the programme. Asaase Water also provided in-kind support through the donation of bottled water for participants.
The Health Walk and First Aid Awareness Session achieved its key objectives by promoting wellness, strengthening member engagement, improving first aid awareness, and creating an opportunity for non-members interested in joining WinE Ghana to connect with the organisation.
WinE Ghana acknowledges with gratitude the support of GhIE leadership, branch coordinators, executives, facilitators, sponsors, members, and all participants who contributed to the success of the event.
Through initiatives such as this, Women in Engineering Ghana continues to advance its mission of supporting women engineering practitioners, promoting professional wellbeing, and building a stronger and more connected engineering community.
Women in Engineering Ghana: moving well, responding better, building impact.
